Voiceless

This entry is more or less a quick message my friends.

Please do not bother trying to call me on the telephone as I currently cannot speak due to a suspected case of Laryngitis. Please contact me by either:

  • MSN
  • email
  • SMS

According to some medical websites it may take up to several weeks for me to get my voice back :(

UPDATE 28/11/2008 @ 15:24
It's taken about a week(?), but my voice has returned, still croaky and hoarse but I can talk at least.

Down With the Sickness

Apart from the song title (which coincidently was played at the Disturbed concert last Friday), I seem to be a sickness (cold) magnet this winter season. Now 2½ cold infections later (the half being the current one), I seems to have gotten a chest infection, says doctor person...

I am now officially SICK of being sick not just because of the actual sickness, but the sleep deprivation that comes with it.... (I miss my sleep *sniff*).

As I stated earlier about the Disturbed concert... it was good. Short. But good. (lack of seating in a concert makes a short one good IMO :S). So, thanks to an unnamed friend, I have picture of 10,000 Fists in all it's glory ^_^

epic food

last night I made the most EPIC dinner that I never want to forget how to make, so I shall reveal all to the world this awesome feed :)

I purchased a single rolled chicken thing (I forget what it's called) that had a herbs and rasher of bacon inside and was in a tomato paste-like base.

That same day I had also done some other vegie shopping so I decided to mod the meal (which is what made it so damn awesome).

So a rough pseudo recipe and how it did it (in step-by-step form):

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-prepared rolled chicken breast/thigh thing
  • 2 Medium-sized carrots
  • 1 medium-sized potato
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 4 whole pieces of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chopped (dried) basil.

Method:
  1. Peel and chop up potato and carrots and par-boil for approximately 10 minutes.
  2. While the vegies are boiling, chop up the onion, tomato and peel garlic.
  3. Prep oven bag and when the boiled vegies are par-boiled mix all ingredients and add into the oven-bag (make sure to follow oven-bag instructions!!!) and place into oven for approximately 35-40 minutes.
  4. Once cooked, cut open oven bag and enjoy! I sure did ^_^

And here is the result, straight from the oven bag (Oven Bags FTW!)!

Partys 'n Stuff

Just about every weekend of mine is made up of a (birthday) party fro at least the next 3 weeks and UNI is starting to become a bit of a drag.

I'm finding myself getting "snowed-in" with assignments and studies again, but hopefully I should pass everything this semester, leaving only one more unit to do next semester.

I got another cold about a week back *raised fist in anger* but I'm nearly back to 100% health.

I've been doing a lot of technical stuff for myself lately as well and generally being my normal non-sociable self...

Friday night at the Disturbed concert was a blast (it rocked soooo hard).

I'm trying to think of an alcoholic mix using the energy drink V, but so far, all I have come up with is Vodka + "V"... any other ideas welcome.

Bad hair day... literally!

Yesterday I shaved my head (hair) with my nicely-cleaned clippers and as I was doing the back part I realised that something was wrong.... I forgot to put the No. 2 attachment on!

Now I have a VERY short back, and short (No. 2) topside, but with a twist (A line that runs up the back, almost to the top (same as back part) !!!

Needless to say, I'm pretty annoyed, but there is little I can do, except shave it again with No. 1 and hope for the stuff-up to grow over (Hrm, looks like I might have to invest in a beanie!).

Family Troubles

One of the family member is mentally ill. Although we (family) have known about it for quite some time, I decided to blog about the issue and the current situation while trying maintaining some anonymity.

The members of my family believe him to be either psychotic or just mentally unstable or something due to post-substance abuse. The reason I bring this up is the fact that I don't know what to do any more...

Previous incidents have cost allot of people money to bail him out (not necessarily out of jail, although I am unaware of any jail time incidents). And his friends and family have pretty much disowned him now, as I will try to explain below.

It has come to the point were he knows how to (smartly) get out of situations like being held in mental institutes (which I must add, he has been in very often), yet he continues to make the same mistakes over and over and recently has begun stealing off of friends and one other family member.

Due the the latest incident where he stole a family friends car (and money) and crashed it (which promoted me to write this post), has brought me to the conclusion that his mental health is deteriorating and that he has become a threat to society. I am also very angry that he did this not only to someone who was trying to help him out, but also to a good friend of mine.

No one trusts him now and (I think) he is at risk of being a homeless person. It seems immoral for us (family) to abandon him to let public services take care of the problem on a temporary reactive basis, but see no other choice...
